With Easter Sunday fast approaching, the local Christian church still has an opportunity to reach its surrounding community with the gospel. The Christian church has celebrated Easter for many years, and the American public has typically joined in the celebration as well. This year the local church can go beyond bunnies and Easter egg hunts to attract children, youth and their families to worship services.

In the past, many Christian churches have sought to attract visitors to Easter Sunday services through many ways. Some of these methods have included Easter egg hunts, spring festivals, and sunrise services with special "gifts" for visitors and guests. These efforts may have attracted people for a variety of reasons from free food to special gifts, but the lasting impact of these efforts may not have been measurable. This year, unlike years in the past, go beyond the bunnies.

Preparation

"The rule is prepare or fail."- A.W. Tozer

Easter alone usually provides an uptick in church attendance. The local church has to prepare for a surge in attendees. Encourage congregants to invite family and friends, even co-workers. Provide congregants with printed invitation cards as well as Twitter and text scripts that can be retweeted or forwarded to others. Also, supply congregants with Facebook messages and event invites that can be shared and "liked" by congregants, fans and others.
