In Virginia, pick your own (PYO) strawberry season starts in May and lasts through June in most locations. Once the strawberries are gone, other berries, fruits and produce are just getting started, so check ahead for crop availability.

Hollin Farm Strawberries, located in Delaplane, VA in northern Fauquier County is just 45 minutes from the beltway, but feels much farther. This fourth-generation family farm offers luscious strawberries in May and June, and other produce seasonally, including a pumpkin patch in fall.

Hartland Farm and Orchard in Markham, VA has u pick strawberries in May and June. After the strawberries, come the cherries (June), black raspberries (June-July), blueberries (July), and red raspberries (August-early October), not to mention harvest festivals, pig races (yes, pig races), and a five-acre corn maze in the fall.
